Job Overview: A well-respected law firm is seeking a mid-level associate for its Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice Group. This position focuses on a wide range of employee benefits and executive compensation matters, including retirement plan design and administration, merger and acquisition support, and taxation issues related to executive compensation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in this field and will contribute to the growth of a national practice.

Location:

  • Denver, CO

Duties:

  • Draft, design, implement, and manage tax-qualified and non-qualified retirement plans.
  • Oversee health and welfare benefit plans and address related legal matters.
  • Provide support on executive compensation and benefits aspects of mergers and acquisitions.
  • Handle taxation issues related to executive compensation, including compliance with Sections 409A and 280G of the Internal Revenue Code.
  • Design and draft employment contracts and other executive compensation arrangements.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in employee benefits and executive compensation.
  • Strong academic background and relevant law firm experience.
  • Excellent writing, drafting, and communication skills.
  • Ambition, drive, and a team-oriented approach to support a national practice.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the bar in the state of practice or eligibility for admission upon hiring.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of employee benefits and executive compensation laws and regulations.
  • Familiarity with mergers and acquisitions as they relate to employee benefits and compensation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
