Education Law Associate Attorney

A law firm in Irvine, CA is seeking an Education Law Associate Attorney with a background in conducting workplace investigations, public sector law, or labor/employment. The ideal candidate should possess strong investigative skills, exceptional research and writing abilities, excellent presentation skills, a robust academic background, and a proactive attitude towards professional growth. Admission to the California State Bar in good standing is required, with preference given to candidates with Title IX experience and familiarity with public sector or education law.

Duties:

• Conduct thorough and impartial workplace investigations in educational settings, ensuring compliance with legal standards and regulations.
• Provide legal advice and representation to educational institutions on a broad range of education law issues, including student rights, employment matters, and regulatory compliance.
• Draft and review legal documents such as investigative reports, memoranda, pleadings, and briefs.
• Collaborate closely with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues to develop case strategies and solutions.
• Present findings and recommendations effectively to clients and other relevant parties.
• Stay abreast of developments in education law, including changes in legislation and case law.

Requirements:

• JD degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the California State Bar and in good standing.
• 2+ years of experience conducting workplace investigations, preferably in education law, public sector law, or labor/employment.
• Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex legal issues and communicate findings clearly and persuasively.
• Excellent presentation skills, both verbal and written.
• Title IX experience strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with public sector or education law is advantageous.
