Admission to the California State Bar in good standing is required, with preference given to candidates with Title IX experience and familiarity with public sector or education law.

Duties:

  • Conduct thorough and impartial workplace investigations in educational settings, ensuring compliance with legal standards and regulations.
  • Provide legal advice and representation to educational institutions on a broad range of education law issues, including student rights, employment matters, and regulatory compliance.
  • Draft and review legal documents such as investigative reports, memoranda, pleadings, and briefs.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues to develop case strategies and solutions.
  • Present findings and recommendations effectively to clients and other relevant parties.
  • Stay abreast of developments in education law, including changes in legislation and case law.

Requirements:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar and in good standing.
  • 2+ years of experience conducting workplace investigations, preferably in education law, public sector law, or labor/employment.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex legal issues and communicate findings clearly and persuasively.
  • Excellent presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Title IX experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with public sector or education law is advantageous.
