Entry-level Immigration Attorney

A law firm seeks an enthusiastic and dedicated Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join its team in Las Vegas, NV. The successful candidate will be mentored by experienced attorneys and will be responsible for case management, client interaction, and contributing to a collaborative immigration law team. Duties:

• Assist in preparing and submitting a variety of immigration applications, including removal defense, family-based petitions, and other USCIS forms.
• Represent both detained and non-detained individuals in immigration proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).
• Manage a caseload of immigration cases, ensuring timely progress and adherence to deadlines.
• Conduct intake sessions with detained individuals at detention centers and provide legal advice.
• Work closely with clients to develop case strategies and prepare them and their witnesses for court or USCIS testimony.
• Provide legal analysis and recommendations for clients regarding their immigration cases and potential benefits.
• Draft legal briefs, motions, and other legal documents for submission to the court or USCIS.
• Maintain strong communication with law enforcement, community organizations, and prosecutorial offices to stay informed about updates in immigration law and policy.
• Participate in strategic consultations with potential clients to assess their legal needs and develop a tailored action plan.

Requirements:

• 0-3 years of experience in Immigration Law, with an emphasis on removal defense, family-based petitions, and USCIS applications.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a high volume of cases simultaneously.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
• Experience with Family-Based Petitions, EOIR (Executive Office for Immigration Review), Detained cases, and Citizenship applications is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with case management software is a plus.
• Ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism and confidentiality.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be licensed to practice law in Nevada (or another state bar if applicable).

Skills:

• Strong legal writing and research skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise legal documents.
• In-depth understanding of immigration law, including USCIS procedures and removal defense.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to clients.
