Senior Advertising Marketing And Promotions Attorney

Job Overview:

A law firm in Bellevue, WA, is seeking a Senior Advertising, Marketing, and Promotions Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have substantive experience in advertising law, consumer protection law, and marketing transactions. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a solid ability to work collaboratively, outstanding legal writing and communication skills, and excellent academic credentials. Experience in a large or medium law firm setting is preferred.

Duties:

• Draft and negotiate various marketing and promotion agreements, including ad agency contracts, influencer agreements, celebrity endorsements, sponsorship deals, and online media buying arrangements.
• Review advertising copy to ensure compliance with laws regarding false advertising, claim substantiation, intellectual property, and right of publicity issues.
• Provide counsel on contest and sweepstakes compliance, price advertising, recurring subscription programs, and loyalty/rewards programs.
• Advise clients on issues related to false advertising, unfair competition, and National Advertising Division disputes.
• Collaborate with team members to develop and implement legal strategies and solutions for marketing and promotional matters.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admittance to the Washington State Bar or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• Experience in advertising law, marketing transactions, and consumer protection.
• Experience working in a large or medium-sized law firm preferred.

Certifications:

• Washington State Bar License (or eligibility to obtain).
• Additional certifications in advertising or intellectual property law are a plus.

Skills:

• Expertise in drafting and negotiating complex marketing and promotion agreements.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent legal writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Familiarity with false advertising, unfair competition, and National Advertising Division dispute resolution.
