Job Overview:

Location:

Duties:

  • Assess new workers' compensation cases, establishing action plans, budgets, and strategies.
  • Identify pleading requirements and delegate tasks to paralegals and legal assistants.
  • Prepare discovery responses, manage document production, and coordinate with support staff.
  • Attend depositions, hearings, and other discovery events, providing thorough reports.
  • Negotiate settlements, obtain necessary approvals, and prepare for trial as required.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, paralegals, and other legal staff to ensure case progress and client satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • 1 to 5 years of experience in workers' compensation law or related fields.
  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina.
  • Prior experience in insurance defense is encouraged but not required.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and a willingness to learn database management systems.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active North Carolina Bar license (required).
