A law firm in Chicago is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 2-3 years of experience to conduct in-depth factual and legal research, assess potential class actions, and prosecute litigation from inception through trial. The ideal candidate will have strong academic credentials or judicial clerkship experience, excellent research and writing skills, and a genuine interest in financial matters.

 

Job Duties:

  • Conduct in-depth factual and legal research to assess potential and newly filed class actions.
  • Prosecute litigation from inception through trial, including drafting pleadings and managing discovery.
  • Respond to dispositive motions and manage affirmative and responsive discovery.
  • Balance competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate clearly with clients.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, organizational skills, and proactive attitude towards professional growth.
  • Utilize Microsoft Word and Excel proficiently for legal tasks.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and maintain good standing with the Illinois Bar.

 

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of litigation experience, preferably in securities, commodities, and/or antitrust.
  • Strong law school academic credentials or judicial clerkship experience.
  • Genuine interest in a career at a law firm focusing on financial matters.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.
  • Ability to balance competing demands and meet deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic, organizational skills, and communication abilities.
  • Proactive attitude towards professional growth.

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
