A law firm in Sacramento, CA, seeks an experienced Private Labor and Employment Associate Attorney to handle a wide range of employment law matters, including litigation, advisory work, and dispute resolution. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience with class actions, single plaintiff cases, and providing general employment advice. Strong research and writing skills are essential, and California Bar admission is required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and litigate employment law cases, including class action and representative actions, single plaintiff cases, and general employment disputes.
  • Conduct legal research, draft motions, briefs, pleadings, and other legal documents.
  • Participate in discovery processes, including conducting and defending depositions.
  • Represent clients at evidentiary hearings, status conferences, and other court proceedings.
  • Argue dispositive motions and participate in trial preparation and strategy.
  • Provide proactive and strategic employment law advice and counsel to clients.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California and in good standing.
  • 3-5 years of experience in general litigation and/or labor and employment law.
  • Demonstrated experience with class actions, representative actions, and single plaintiff cases.
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents and motions, conducting depositions, and arguing motions.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases and prioritize workload effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in advising clients on a wide range of employment law issues, including compliance matters and litigation avoidance strategies.
  • Familiarity with federal and California employment laws and regulations.
  • Trial experience and a track record of successful outcomes in employment litigation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
