Job Title: e-Discovery Counsel

Job Overview:
A leading law firm in Saint Louis, MO, is seeking an experienced e-discovery Counsel to join its Litigation Support Department. This role involves firm-wide management of e-discovery processes, including providing strategic guidance, advising on best practices for document management, and ensuring compliance with discovery protocols. The position involves both billable and non-billable tasks related to electronic discovery, document review, and dissemination of new developments in the field.

Duties:

  • Oversee all aspects of electronic discovery, including strategic decisions during discovery and planning phases.
  • Advise Litigation Support Department and select clients on best practices for document collection, retention, review, and production.
  • Coordinate with other attorneys to ensure regulatory compliance and manage subpoena responses.
  • Maintain and update discovery-related authority, including case studies, articles, and conference reports.
  • Provide training and updates on new e-Discovery developments and technologies.
  • Contribute to document review and other litigation support functions.
  • Ensure that all e-discovery processes are aligned with firm and client confidentiality standards.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of e-Discovery or Litigation Support experience within a law firm or vendor setting.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Expertise in e-Discovery lifecycle processes, from collection to production.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Knowledge of e-discovery review tools, forensic document collection, and litigation holds.
  • Understanding of database search methodologies, predictive coding, and text encoding.
  • Flexibility with work schedule, including some availability outside of standard business hours.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Ohio state and federal courts.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in advanced litigation support and e-discovery technologies.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
