Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a highly motivated and experienced Probate & Estate Planning Attorney to join its rapidly growing team. Duties:

  • Meet directly with clients to understand their estate planning and probate needs
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney
  • Develop and implement estate planning strategies tailored to individual client situations
  • Represent clients in probate court hearings and guardianship proceedings when necessary
  • Collaborate with senior partners, paralegals, and other team members to manage cases effectively
  • Provide legal counsel and advice regarding asset distribution, guardianship, and probate disputes
  • Negotiate settlements and agreements related to probate and estate matters
  • Ensure cases are handled efficiently following firm protocols and procedures
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, keeping them informed of case developments

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, with at least 3 years specializing in probate, estate planning, and estate administration
  • Active Texas law license in good standing, with no history of state bar investigations
  • Strong knowledge of probate law, estate planning, and guardianship processes
  • Proven ability to handle probate and estate cases from start to finish
  • Solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to navigate complex legal situations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Texas Bar license required

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat Pro, Zoom, and legal practice management software (e.g., PracticePanther) is a plus
  • Strong legal writing skills, including experience drafting legal documents and articles
  • Ability to handle multiple cases and deadlines with precision and efficiency
