A law firm in Garden City, NY, is seeking a Mid- to Senior-level Litigation Associate Attorney with expertise in medical malpractice and healthcare litigation. The successful candidate will represent healthcare professionals and facilities in malpractice litigation, work collaboratively with senior litigators, and manage various aspects of complex legal cases. Duties:

  • Represent healthcare professionals and healthcare facilities in malpractice litigation.
  • Work collaboratively with senior litigators to develop litigation strategy to defend medical malpractice actions.
  • Draft and review pleadings, discovery documents, memos, briefs, and other legal correspondence.
  • Analyze medical records and represent clients in court.
  • Participate in depositions, conferences, hearings, and all other aspects of medical malpractice litigation.
  • Interact with medical experts to support case strategies.
  • Conduct legal and medical research and analysis.
  • Draft motions and other litigation documents.
  • Work cooperatively with colleagues and interact with clients to provide high-quality legal representation.

Requirements:

  • Admission to practice law in New York.
  • 4+ years of experience in medical malpractice or healthcare litigation.
  • 4-7 years of experience in a law firm or relevant legal setting.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in New York.
