A law firm seeks a seasoned Senior Associate Attorney to join its Chicago office, specializing in high-stakes construction law. This role is ideal for legal professionals with 7 to 15 years of experience in complex litigation and arbitration. The successful candidate will work with some of the largest engineering and construction firms, providing exceptional legal representation in challenging disputes.

Duties

  • Represent clients in high-stakes litigation and arbitration, focusing on construction law and related disputes.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, ensuring clarity and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Engage in complex case analysis, developing strategies to effectively advocate for clients before domestic and international tribunals.
  • Collaborate with clients and project participants on transactional and contract engagements, providing expert legal advice.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and prepare detailed memoranda to support case strategies.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients, keeping them informed of case developments and providing tailored legal solutions.
  • Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and support staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Requirements

  • 7 to 15 years of experience in high-end commercial litigation or arbitration.
  • Exceptional writing skills with a proven track record of producing high-quality legal documents.
  • Experience in construction law or a relevant background in the design/construction industry is preferred but not required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
