Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:

A prestigious law firm in Napa, CA is seeking an experienced and highly motivated litigation attorney with 2-5 years of experience. The ideal candidate will work closely with a team of seasoned litigators and corporate attorneys, gaining hands-on experience in trial preparation and corporate legal matters. This position offers an opportunity to develop practical business solutions for corporate clients while engaging in all stages of litigation and corporate transactions.

Duties:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of litigated claims.
  • Prepare for trial, including strategy discussions, discovery, records review, client interviews, and witness preparation.
  • Conduct thorough research in complex litigation areas.
  • Take and defend depositions effectively.
  • Draft and argue motions.
  • Represent clients in court hearings.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and legal advice.
  • Draft settlement agreements and other corporate contracts.
  • Support corporate legal matters outside of litigation.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of litigation experience.
  • California state law license.
  • Experience with ERISA matters, and general corporate, and business transactions is advantageous.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active California Bar membership is required.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of California.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and critical reasoning abilities.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to develop trial strategies and think strategically during litigation.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
