A leading law firm seeks a senior-level Private Wealth Planning Associate to join its West Coast Private Wealth Planning Group in Los Angeles or San Francisco. This role involves advising high-net-worth clients on estate, gift, and GST tax planning strategies. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in managing large projects, strong client interaction skills, and proficiency in estate planning for high-net-worth individuals.

Duties

  • Advise high-net-worth clients on comprehensive estate, gift, and GST tax planning strategies
  • Draft complex estate planning documents with a high degree of independence
  • Manage large-scale client projects, ensuring effective communication and timely completion
  • Collaborate closely with clients and their outside advisors on wealth planning solutions
  • Conduct legal research and stay informed on changing tax laws relevant to estate planning

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of experience in high-net-worth wealth planning
  • Strong independent drafting experience in estate planning documents
  • Ability to manage client relationships and interface effectively with advisors

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • LL.M. in Tax or Estate Planning preferred (or currently enrolled in a related program)

Certifications

  • Licensed Attorney in good standing with the California Bar

Skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong academic credentials and analytical abilities
  • Proven project management skills for handling large and complex client matters
  • In-depth knowledge of estate, gift, and GST tax planning
