Job Title: Immigration Attorney

Job Overview

A Houston-based law firm is seeking a dedicated Immigration Attorney to join its team in Pasadena, TX. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on immigration law. The successful candidate will engage in all aspects of immigration legal proceedings, including court appearances, client communications, and legal research while contributing to a collaborative team.

Duties

  • Draft legal documents, including correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, settlement agreements, forms, and agreements for use in proceedings
  • Organize client files to ensure up-to-date information is accessible to attorneys, paralegals, and staff
  • Review and analyze client issues on legal matters, identifying and recommending the best course of action
  • Communicate and collaborate with senior attorneys, paralegals, and clients to maintain efficient case management
  • Meet with clients as necessary to discuss case details and provide updates
  • Conduct legal research to support case strategy and preparation
  • Prepare for and attend various hearings, including master calendar hearings, bond hearings, and individual hearings
  • Offer general legal counsel in line with the firm’s practices

Requirements

  • Active license to practice law with successful completion of the bar exam
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in immigration law
  • Strong ability to collaborate with other attorneys and team members to best serve client needs and expand the client base
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to facilitate effective interaction with clients, staff, and senior attorneys

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Must be a licensed attorney in good standing

Skills

  • Proficiency in time management and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform detailed legal research and analysis
  • Familiarity with legal documentation and processes specific to immigration law
