This position offers the opportunity to handle a wide range of transactional tax matters, including corporate, partnership, mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, real estate, cross-border transactions, and energy tax credits. The role is ideal for a candidate with a strong foundation in tax law who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Duties:

  • Work on complex transactional tax matters across various industries
  • Draft substantive agreements and provide in-depth tax analysis
  • Handle corporate, partnership, and real estate tax matters
  • Provide tax support for mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and joint ventures
  • Assist with cross-border transactions and energy tax credit projects
  • Conduct thorough tax research and analysis
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to provide strategic tax advice
  • Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism and attention to detail in client interactions

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience working in tax law, preferably in a large law firm environment
  • Proven experience in transactional tax, including corporate, M&A, and partnership matters
  • Ability to draft substantive legal documents and agreements
  • Strong research and analytical skills related to tax law

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the Washington, DC Bar (or eligibility to waive in)

Certifications:

  • Active membership or eligibility to be admitted to the Washington, DC Bar

Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
