A law firm in Union is seeking a skilled Personal Injury Attorney to handle a variety of personal injury cases, including auto, motorcycle, truck, and slip-and-fall accidents. The ideal candidate will advocate effectively for clients, manage complex cases from intake to verdict or settlement, and collaborate closely with paralegals and legal assistants. The role requires thoroughness, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle a substantial caseload.Duties and Responsibilities:Advocate for clients in personal injury cases, including auto, motorcycle, truck, and slip-and-fall accidents.Handle complex personal injury cases from intake through to verdict or settlement.Communicate with clients to understand their legal needs, provide advice, and keep them informed about case progress.Develop strategies to resolve cases favorably and cost-effectively.Review discovery documents and determine the best course of action for each client.Conduct and administer depositions and oral hearings of witnesses and experts.Prepare all necessary documents for filing cases.Manage a caseload of approximately 150 cases, maintaining thorough and organized case files.Supervise and work closely with two paralegals to prepare comprehensive briefs for trial.Maintain a regular schedule of hearings, court appearances, and conferences based on case requirements.Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and resolve property damage claims.Demonstrate confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.Exhibit strong team player attributes and collaborate effectively with the legal team.Use Microsoft Suite and Case Management systems such as Smart Advocate proficiently.Requirements:Licensed to practice law in New Jersey.5+ years of plaintiff’s personal injury experience.Proficiency in negotiating settlements with insurance carriers and resolving property damage claims.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PPT) and Case Management systems (e.g., Smart Advocate).Experience with trials and managing a substantial caseload.Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.Bilingual in Spanish preferred.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Education:Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.Certifications:Active New Jersey State Bar license.Skills:Proficient in Microsoft Suite and Case Management systems.Strong negotiation, settlement, and trial skills.Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively and independently.Demonstrated confidentiality and professionalism.Job Location:Union, NJBenefits Offered:401(k) plan with company match.Medical, Vision, and Dental coverage.Flexible Spending Account (FSA).Life and Long-term Disability Insurance.Paid time off and firm-closed holidays.Wellness incentives, discretionary bonus, birthday lunches, holiday parties, and picnics.
