A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Immigration Attorney to join its growing team in Philadelphia, PA. This role will focus primarily on removal defense and family-based immigration cases, including asylum, cancellation of removal, humanitarian applications, and family-based permanent residence petitions. The ideal candidate will have strong writing, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:

  • Client Interaction: Engage directly with clients to gather information, provide updates, and offer legal advice.
  • Case Management: Monitor and ensure adherence to critical deadlines for immigration filings and court submissions.
  • Document Drafting and Review: Draft and review letters, forms, and documents for partner and client review, and submit to relevant government agencies.
  • Court Representation: Represent clients at USCIS interviews, including the Asylum Office, and at Master Calendar and Merits Hearings before the Executive Office for Immigration Review.
  • Supervision: Oversee the work of legal assistants, ensuring quality control, accuracy, and proper reporting to the supervising partner.
  • File Management: Maintain and organize both digital and physical client files to ensure accessibility and compliance.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • At least one year of experience in family-based immigration law and/or removal defense is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong writing, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law.

Skills:

  • Strong writing and drafting skills, particularly in the context of immigration law.
  • Ability to represent clients in immigration court and USCIS interviews.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Bilingual communication skills (preferred).
