A law firm in Orange, CA is seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will manage their own caseload while collaborating with a supportive Immigration Team of Attorneys and legal assistants. The role involves representing clients in various immigration matters, preparing applications, and providing strategic legal counsel.

Duties:

  • Report to the Sr. Associate Attorney and manage a caseload of immigration cases.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Conduct intakes with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare and file diverse immigration applications, including removal defense, family-based petitions, and humanitarian relief.
  • Review and adjust immigration applications/packets as needed.
  • Present immigration law updates and collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations.
  • Consult with potential clients to develop strategic immigration plans and determine necessary legal strategies.
  • Develop and prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to identify potential benefits and outcomes for clients' cases.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration matters.
  • Maintain effective client communication and case management throughout the legal process.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law.
  • 1-4 years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian relief, EOIR, detained cases, and USCIS applications.
  • Preferably bilingual in Spanish.
  • Proficiency with case management software is preferred.
