A law firm seeks an Entry Level Immigration Attorney to join its team in Phoenix, AZ. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recently admitted attorney to gain hands-on experience in immigration law while working with a skilled and collaborative team. As an Entry Level Immigration Attorney, you will be responsible for managing your caseload, interacting with clients, and working closely with senior attorneys to provide strategic legal counsel. This role offers significant growth potential within a well-established firm committed to professional development.

Duties:

  • Assist clients by explaining immigration law concepts and offering strategic solutions
  • Represent detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
  • Manage a caseload of diverse immigration cases
  • Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at immigration centers
  • Prepare and file various immigration applications, including family-based petitions, removal defense, and others
  • Review immigration applications and make necessary revisions to ensure accuracy
  • Engage with law enforcement, prosecutors, and community organizations to discuss updates in immigration law
  • Meet with potential clients for consultations and determine the best strategy for their immigration matters
  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court appearances or USCIS testimony
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for different immigration cases

Requirements:

  • 0-3 years of experience in immigration law, ideally gained through law school clinics, internships, or volunteer work
  • Strong team player who enjoys collaborating, strategizing, and assisting fellow attorneys
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, but not required
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload and advance legal cases efficiently
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications
  • Familiarity with case management software is a plus

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active bar admission (or awaiting admission)

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Capable of developing and executing strategic legal approaches for clients
  • Proficiency with case management software is preferred
