Job Overview:
A premier property casualty law firm is seeking an experienced Property Casualty Attorney with a focus on 1st Party Property litigation. Location:

  • Metairie, LA

Duties:

  • Manage property casualty and 1st party property cases from inception to resolution.

  • Supervise and mentor junior staff while managing case progression.

  • Handle discovery, including taking and defending depositions.

  • Draft and file legal petitions, complaints, motions, and briefs with minimal supervision.

  • Prepare and manage cases for trial, including strategizing litigation approaches.

  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to ensure favorable outcomes.

  • Learn and engage in the business side of practicing law, including case management and client interaction.

  • Participate in firm-wide initiatives, including ongoing development of legal strategies and thought leadership.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Property Casualty, 1st Party Property, or Civil Litigation.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing cases in both state and federal courts.

  • Ability to supervise and mentor staff effectively.

  • Proficient in discovery management, including taking and defending depositions.

  • Experience writing legal petitions, motions, complaints, and briefs independently.

  • Ability to prepare for and manage trial processes.

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of California; additional state licenses are a bonus but not required.

  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to handle a diverse caseload.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active and valid license to practice law in California (additional state licenses are a bonus).

Skills:

  • Expertise in Property Casualty, 1st Party Property, or Civil Litigation.

  • Strong trial preparation and courtroom experience.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple cases effectively.
