Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:

A law firm based in Somerset, NJ, is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney with 5-10 years of the comparable law firm or financial industry in-house experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in drafting legal documents, maintaining exceptional client relations, and demonstrating successful in-court advocacy. This role requires a high degree of initiative, independence, and motivation, with the ability to develop and execute strategies for resolving complex legal matters.

Duties:

• Represent clients in various litigation matters, including pre-trial, trial, and post-trial proceedings.
• Draft, review, and revise legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions and memoranda.
• Manage and oversee the discovery process, including collecting, reviewing, and producing evidence.
• Develop and implement legal strategies to effectively address and resolve client issues.
• Provide clients with expert legal advice and regular communication regarding case progress.
• Advocate on behalf of clients in court, presenting evidence and arguments to support their positions.
• Negotiate settlements and facilitate dispute resolution between parties.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents.
• Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and staff within the firm to ensure comprehensive case management.

Requirements:

• 5-10 years of litigation experience in an in-house setting of a comparable law firm or financial industry.
• Proven history of excellent drafting skills and successful in-court advocacy.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex legal matters independently and develop effective strategies.
• Exceptional client relations skills with a record of providing high-quality legal advice and support.
• Licensed to practice law in New Jersey and New York.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in New Jersey and New York.
