Job Overview:

A law firm seeks a passionate and skilled bilingual immigration attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both English and Spanish and have a strong dedication to providing high-quality legal services in the field of immigration law. This hybrid position involves representing clients in various immigration matters, including family petitions, asylum applications, and removal defense, with the flexibility of working between two office locations in Conroe and Houston, TX.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in immigration matters, utilizing both English and Spanish.
  • Draft, prepare, and file petitions, applications, motions, briefs, and other legal documents with precision.
  • Represent clients before the USCIS, EOIR, and other relevant immigration agencies.
  • Stay updated on immigration law and policy changes through continuous legal research.
  • Educate clients on their immigration options and guide them through the legal process.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed case files, ensuring clients are kept informed of case progress and deadlines.
  • Participate in client consultations, court hearings, and interviews as required.
  • Collaborate with team members and support staff for seamless case management.
  • Travel between the Conroe and Houston offices as necessary to meet with clients and attend hearings.

Requirements:

  • Active membership in the state bar and good standing, preferably in Texas, or eligibility to practice in immigration law.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish (written and spoken) is required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in immigration law is preferred, but candidates with varying levels of experience may be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of immigration procedures, including family-based petitions, removal defense, asylum, naturalization, and employment-based immigration.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and persuasive legal documents in both languages.
  • Strong verbal communication, negotiation, and client relations skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple cases efficiently.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as collaborate with a team.
  • A deep commitment to serving the Hispanic and Latino communities.
  • Willingness to travel between the Conroe and Houston offices as needed.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the state bar (preferably Texas) or eligibility to practice immigration law.

Skills:

  • Fluent in both English and Spanish, written and spoken.
  • Proficient in drafting legal documents, motions, and briefs.
  • Strong research skills and familiarity with immigration law updates.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
