Job Title: Associate Immigration Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is looking to hire an experienced and motivated Associate Immigration Attorney to join their dynamic immigration team. The Associate Immigration Attorney will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload, representing clients in removal proceedings, and working closely with a team of attorneys and legal assistants to provide strategic legal support to individuals facing immigration challenges.

Duties:

• Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Handle a varied caseload and work directly with clients to address immigration needs.
• Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at detention centers.
• Draft and prepare a variety of immigration applications, including family-based petitions and removal defense strategies.
• Review and update immigration application packets to ensure accuracy.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on immigration matters.
• Develop case strategies, assist with witness preparation, and prepare clients for court or USCIS interviews.
• Provide clients with legal analysis and advice on potential benefits and options in their immigration cases.
• Draft legal briefs and motions related to immigration matters.

Requirements:

• 1-4 years of experience in immigration law.
• Strong ability to manage a caseload and effectively move cases forward.
• Experience in family-based immigration, humanitarian relief, removal defense, detained cases, USCIS applications, and legal writing.
• Experience with case management software is preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar of California (or eligibility for admission).

Certifications:

• Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California.
