Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is looking to hire a mid-level Business Transactions Associate to join its business transactions practice group. The ideal candidate will have experience with complex business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions. Exposure to securities offerings, corporate finance transactions, and joint ventures is a plus. Candidates with a background in accounting or tax (or an LL.M. in Taxation) are strongly preferred. This role requires excellent academic credentials, superior writing skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a client-driven environment.

Location:

  • Tallahassee, FL

Duties:

  • Manage complex business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions
  • Assist with securities offerings, corporate finance transactions, and joint ventures
  • Draft and review business transaction agreements and documents
  • Provide legal counsel to clients on a variety of business matters
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Work independently on client matters while collaborating with a team of legal professionals
  • Maintain a high level of client service in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in business transactions, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions
  • Exposure to securities offerings, corporate finance transactions, and joint ventures preferred
  • Background in accounting or tax (or an LL.M. in Taxation) strongly preferred
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Strong demonstrated writing skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently on client matters
  • High commitment to client service and attention to detail

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • LL.M. in Taxation (preferred but not required)

Skills:

  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and prioritize effectively
