Job Overview:
A law firm based in Keene, NH, is seeking an entry-level attorney to join its employment law practice, primarily representing employees in employment-related legal claims. This position will involve working on various aspects of litigation, including client intake, drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and managing cases under the supervision of senior attorneys. Duties:

  • Conduct initial interviews with potential clients to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of their cases.

  • Draft and prepare litigation documents, including court filings, administrative charges, and correspondence.

  • Represent clients at hearings, mediations, and agency proceedings, sometimes requiring travel.

  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients in employment disputes.

  • Manage multiple litigation cases, ensuring deadlines are met and all aspects of the cases are well-managed.

  • Perform legal research and write memoranda to support cases.

  • Maintain organization and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.

  • Admission to a State Bar is preferred (New York or any New England state preferred). Candidates not yet admitted in relevant jurisdictions will need to apply for admission.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail.

  • Ability to analyze legal issues and solve problems efficiently.

  • Motivated, self-reflective, and able to accept and incorporate feedback.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws (preferred but not required).

  • Experience in litigation and case management (preferred but not required).
