Litigation Associate

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate to join their team in Hunt Valley, MD. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in medical malpractice or insurance coverage defense. This position offers a hybrid work environment, combining both in-office and remote opportunities.

Duties

• Conduct comprehensive legal research to support case preparation, utilizing resources like Lexis-Nexis.
• Draft, review, and manage legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Assist with the litigation process by preparing trial materials and exhibits.
• Collaborate with clients, gathering necessary information and providing case updates.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings as needed.
• Analyze relevant case law and statutes to ensure compliance and informed decision-making.
• Organize and maintain case files, ensuring documentation is easily accessible to the legal team.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction (MD Bar required, D.C. Bar preferred).
• Proven experience in legal drafting, research, and litigation support.
• Familiarity with medical malpractice or insurance coverage defense is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction (MD Bar required, D.C. Bar preferred).

Skills

• Legal research (Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw, or similar tools).
