A law firm in Chattanooga, TN, is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to focus on collection and litigation matters. The successful candidate will handle breach of contract and collection litigation from demand through judgment. This role requires excellent written, analytical, and oral advocacy skills, and involves attending court hearings, preparing motions, and managing a substantial caseload. The position offers flexibility with remote work options and a comprehensive benefits package.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage breach of contract and collection litigation matters from initial demand through final judgment.
  • Attend court hearings, both telephonic and in-person, as required.
  • Prepare, file, and argue Motions for Summary Judgment.
  • Oversee and manage an assigned caseload to meet goals and exceed client expectations.
  • Address and resolve escalated and time-sensitive matters promptly.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in the state of California; multi-jurisdictional admission in AZ, CA, NV, and TX is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA) and Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) is a plus.

  • Strong research skills, with proficiency in using both legal and non-legal sources.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize a large caseload.
