Job Overview:
A reputable law firm based in Tampa, FL, is seeking an experienced and skilled Collections Associate Attorney. This role is designed for legal professionals with a strong background in debt recovery and collection law, who can manage cases effectively while adhering to all applicable regulations. The ideal candidate will bring 8-15 years of experience to the table and be ready to work in a dynamic legal environment that values expertise in both litigation and negotiation.

Duties:

• Manage an extensive caseload related to collection matters, including drafting legal documents and conducting thorough legal research.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, trials, hearings, depositions, mediations, and negotiations.
• Collaborate with clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams to negotiate settlements.
• Provide sound legal advice to clients on matters related to debt collection, laws, and procedures.
• Ensure full compliance with current and emerging collection laws and regulations.
• Maintain meticulous and up-to-date case files and legal documentation.
• Stay informed on updates and changes in debt recovery and collection regulations.

Requirements:

• Admission to the Florida Bar, in good standing.
• 8-15 years of experience in practicing collection law, with a specialization in debt recovery.
• Proven expertise in collection laws, regulations, and legal procedures.
• Excellent communication and negotiation capabilities.
• Strong analytical skills with a meticulous approach to solving legal challenges.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and meet strict deadlines.
• Proficiency in legal research and the use of case management software.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be licensed and admitted to practice law in Florida.

Skills:

• High-level proficiency in legal research.
• Expertise in drafting legal documents and correspondence.
• Strong negotiation and mediation skills.
• Detail-oriented with a capability for handling multiple cases simultaneously.
