Job Title: Senior Employment Law Attorney III

Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Senior Employment Law Attorney III to join their team in Spokane, WA. This role involves providing expert legal advice on complex employment law issues, representing clients in mediations and trials and actively contributing to the firm's business development and community engagement efforts. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in employment law, strong advocacy skills, and a commitment to client service.

Duties:

  • Conduct mediation with a proven record of success.
  • Represent clients in trials with significant and successful trial experience.
  • Research and analyze the law on complex legal issues.
  • Draft memorandums, briefs, letters, and other legal documents.
  • Market personal and firm services to prospective clients.
  • Perform discovery of electronically stored data and hard copies for litigation preparation.
  • Conduct due diligence in all legal matters.
  • Maintain strong communication and advocacy skills, including empathetic listening.
  • Manage a schedule to ensure timely consultations and closures.
  • Close consultations within the firm's target range of 30-50%, depending on the practice area.
  • Approve invoices promptly to maintain monthly business health.
  • Ensure full utilization and productivity of support staff.
  • Update client management systems with fees, engagement details, trust information, and invoices accurately.
  • Share the workload with other attorneys and support staff when necessary to meet community service objectives.
  • Engage in brand expansion through blogs, social media posts, and participation in boards and organizations.
  • Seek positive client feedback and star reviews.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association-accredited law school.
  • Admission (or eligibility for reciprocal admission) to the WA Bar.
  • 5+ years of experience as an employment attorney.
  • Excellent legal research skills.
  • Strong writing and interpersonal skills.
