Associate Attorney - Civil Litigation

Job Overview: A law firm seeks a driven and skilled Associate Attorney to join its legal team in Sherman, Texas. Duties:

• Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare comprehensive pleadings.
• Draft, review, and analyze contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
• Represent clients in litigation proceedings and negotiations.
• Stay informed on current laws, regulations, and legal precedents.
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand their legal needs and provide tailored guidance.
• Develop strategies for case presentation and manage case development.
• Interpret and apply laws, rulings, and regulations to clients' legal matters.
• Counsel clients on their legal rights and offer guidance on business transactions.
• Negotiate settlements for civil disputes.
• Provide mentorship and supervision to legal assistants.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in civil litigation
• Admission to the Texas Bar; Oklahoma Bar is a plus
• Proficient with legal research tools, particularly Westlaw
• Strong writing skills and the ability to draft precise and well-organized legal documents
• Proven negotiation skills with a history of effective client advocacy
• Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment
• Strong commitment to confidentiality, ethical standards, and professional responsibility

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Texas State Bar (Oklahoma Bar is beneficial)
