A law firm seeks a mid-to-senior level Associate Attorney to join its Transactional Real Estate Finance practice. The role emphasizes client interaction, requiring strong negotiation and documentation skills, along with a collaborative, team-driven approach.

Duties:

  • Document, negotiate, and close real estate-secured financing transactions on behalf of lenders.
  • Manage loan transactions across various collateral types and geographies, with an emphasis on construction finance.
  • Work closely with clients to develop and maintain long-term relationships, taking a lead in client management responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with a team of attorneys and paralegals to ensure the successful execution of complex financial transactions.
  • Conduct thorough title insurance reviews and address related concerns in financing deals.
  • Stay informed on evolving real estate finance laws and best practices to provide clients with up-to-date advice and representation.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years of experience in transactional real estate finance, including the negotiation, documentation, and closing of secured loans.
  • Familiarity with title insurance and its role in real estate-secured lending transactions.
  • Strong client service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and build lasting professional relationships.
  • Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail and a creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Licensed to practice law, with a preference for those holding a California Bar license and experience with California financing transactions.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (California Bar membership preferred but not required).

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of real estate finance and secured lending transactions.
  • Proficient in drafting and negotiating loan documents and related agreements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on detail and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to manage client relationships and work collaboratively within a team.
  • Familiarity with title insurance and real estate-related documentation.
