The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling various immigration matters, including removal defense, family-based petitions, and humanitarian relief. As part of a collaborative team, the Immigration Attorney will manage their caseload, work directly with clients, and contribute to the overall success of the firm’s immigration practice.

Duties

  • Provide expert legal counsel on complex immigration issues and recommend strategic solutions
  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals
  • Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring timely and efficient case progression
  • Conduct intake meetings with detained clients at detention centers
  • Prepare and file various immigration applications, including family-based petitions, removal defense, and humanitarian cases
  • Review and revise immigration applications for accuracy and completeness
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on immigration-related matters
  • Advise and guide clients on immigration strategy, including court and USCIS preparation
  • Draft legal briefs and provide analysis to support clients’ cases
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders

Requirements

  • 1-4 years of experience in immigration law
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to clients
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Preferably bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Demonstrated experience in handling family-based immigration petitions, removal defense, and other USCIS-related matters
  • Familiarity with case management software is a plus
  • High level of professionalism, client focus, and interpersonal skills

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice law in the state of Texas

Certifications

  • Active Bar membership in Texas
