Job Overview: A law firm seeks an experienced Civil Litigation Attorney to join its dynamic team in Mission Viejo, CA. The ideal candidate will represent clients in various civil litigation cases, provide legal advice, draft legal documents, and advocate in court proceedings.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, briefs, motions, discovery, and other legal documents.
  • Advise clients on legal matters, assess risks, and develop strategies to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, trials, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Manage a caseload independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Supervise and collaborate with administrative assistants, paralegals, and law clerks in case preparation and management.
  • Develop case strategies and negotiate settlements when beneficial for clients.
  • Stay updated with changes in the law and court procedures that may affect cases.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in civil litigation practice.
  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar and good standing.
  • Strong litigation skills, including legal research, writing, and oral advocacy proficiency.
  • Experience in construction and business litigation is preferred.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage a heavy caseload independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Certifications:
