This position will involve managing a diverse caseload, representing clients in removal proceedings, and collaborating with a dedicated team of attorneys and legal assistants. The Senior Immigration Attorney will play a key role in handling complex immigration cases while maintaining client relationships and providing strategic legal solutions.

Location:

  • Orange, CA

Duties:

  • Explain immigration law concepts and present tailored strategic solutions to clients
  • Represent detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
  • Manage a caseload efficiently, ensuring that cases move forward in a timely manner
  • Conduct intakes with detained individuals at centers
  • Prepare diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions
  • Review immigration applications and make necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy
  • Work with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on immigration law developments
  • Meet with potential clients for consultations and assess necessary strategies for their cases
  • Develop strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimony
  • Provide legal analysis for clients, identifying potential case benefits
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases

Requirements:

  • 5 to 8 years of experience in immigration law
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload and move cases forward
  • A team player with an open approach to collaboration and strategy development
  • Preferably bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications
  • Experience with Case Management Software is preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of immigration law and procedures
  • Ability to manage complex legal cases
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a legal team
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to analyze and adjust legal documents
