The ideal candidate will possess an advanced degree in organic chemistry or have significant industrial experience in the field. This role involves drafting and prosecuting chemistry patent applications, and candidates must be experienced in the pharmaceutical industry.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Draft and prosecute chemistry patent applications
  • Provide strategic advice on patentability, validity, and infringement issues
  • Conduct thorough patent searches and analyses
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their innovative technologies and business goals
  • Prepare legal opinions and provide counsel on intellectual property matters
  • Manage and coordinate patent portfolios
  • Stay updated on changes in patent laws and regulations
  • Work closely with other attorneys and support staff to ensure efficient case management
  • Engage in business development activities to expand the firm's IP practice

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in chemistry (Ph.D. preferred)
  • Bar admission
  • Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
  • Superior academic credentials
  • 2-6 years of experience in drafting and prosecuting chemistry patent applications
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is a plus

Education:

  • Advanced degree in organic chemistry or a related field

Certifications:
