A law firm in Miami, FL is seeking a dedicated and skilled Immigration Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload, train and supervise staff, and ensure compliance with all legal standards. This position offers the opportunity to become an expert in various immigration processes and procedures while contributing to the firm’s growth and reputation.

 

Job Details:

  • Meet with potential new clients to assess their needs and provide legal guidance.
  • Coordinate case and legal strategy in collaboration with other attorneys and staff members.
  • Manage multiple cases, paralegals, projects, and deadlines to ensure timely and effective legal services.
  • Train and supervise staff, including paralegals and junior attorneys, to maintain high standards of practice.
  • Prepare and revise court documents, including motions, briefs, and memoranda, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal protocols.
  • Conduct legal research and write comprehensive legal motions, briefs, and memoranda.
  • Keep abreast of legislative changes and judicial case law to provide current and effective legal counsel.
  • Market the law firm's services to attract new clients and maintain relationships with existing clients.
  • Work one Saturday a month with the potential for bonuses for new clients signed during those days.
  • Cross-sell various other practices within the law firm to existing and potential clients.
  • Handle court hearings and trials, representing clients effectively and professionally.
  • Become an expert on Family Petitions, Asylum, Individual Hearings, SIJIS, U-Visas, Waivers, etc., providing specialized legal advice and services.

 

Requirements:

  • J.D. from an ABA Accredited Law School (required).
  • Active Bar License in Good Standing from any US State or PR (required).
  • Fluent in Spanish (required).
  • 1+ year of immigration experience (preferred, but motivated lawyers with experience in other legal areas are welcome).

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Active Bar License in good standing from any US State or Puerto Rico.

 

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and projects simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Spanish.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to professional development and learning.
