Chemistry Patent Agent

A law firm in Boston, Massachusetts, is seeking a Chemistry Patent Agent to join their team. The successful candidate will work closely with partners, gaining valuable experience in patent strategy, drafting, prosecution, and diligence matters while engaging with clients directly. Duties:

• Collaborate with partners to develop and implement patent strategies.
• Prepare, draft, and prosecute patent applications in various chemistry-related fields such as medicinal chemistry, small molecules, pharmaceuticals, synthetic methods, polymer science, and drug discovery.
• Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate searches and analyses.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding patent matters.
• Assist in due diligence investigations for intellectual property transactions.

Requirements:

• Advanced degree, preferably a Ph.D., in Chemistry.
• 2-4 years of experience in patent prosecution.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications in chemistry-related areas.

Education:

Advanced degree (Ph.D.) in Chemistry.

Certifications:

Patent Agent registration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is preferred.

Skills:

• Proficiency in patent prosecution processes.
• Ability to conduct thorough patent searches and analyses.
