Job Overview

A leading law firm is seeking a skilled Mid-Level Associate to join its national Employee Benefits practice. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in employee benefits law, including a strong understanding of ERISA, retirement plans, executive compensation, health & welfare benefits, fringe benefits, and M&A-related employee benefits matters. Duties

  • Provide expert legal counsel on employee benefits matters, including retirement plans, executive compensation, health & welfare plans, and fringe benefits.
  • Advise clients on employee benefits issues related to mergers, acquisitions, and corporate restructuring.
  • Draft legal documents, including memos, reports, and client correspondence.
  • Conduct thorough legal research on emerging employee benefits regulations.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop legal strategies and solutions for clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing high-quality legal service and strategic advice.
  • Work on diverse and complex employee benefits matters, delivering practical and actionable solutions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in employee benefits law, with a focus on ERISA.
  • Experience with qualified retirement plans, executive compensation, health & welfare benefits, fringe benefits, and/or M&A-related employee benefits issues.
  • Strong academic credentials and proven legal abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex legal concepts in clear and actionable terms.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in the state

  • Strong understanding of ERISA and employee benefits law.
