Job Overview: A law firm in Houston, TX, is seeking an experienced EOIR Immigration Attorney to represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court, USCIS, and Board of Immigration Appeals. The ideal candidate will manage a caseload involving defensive immigration applications and legal briefs, ensuring high-quality representation and client satisfaction.

  • Duties:

    • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court, USCIS, and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
    • Prepare defensive immigration applications, including I-589, 42A, 42B, I-485, SIJS, and PD requests.
    • Review and prepare immigration applications and USCIS filings such as I-130, I-601A, and U-Visa.
    • Meet with clients to assess cases, determine legal strategies, and provide analysis.
    • Manage a team of paralegals to ensure efficient case management and meet customer service expectations.
    • Prepare and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases.
  • Requirements:

    • 3-5 years of experience practicing Immigration Law.
    • Proven record of managing and advancing legal cases, demonstrating strong case management skills.
    • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
    • Familiarity with Case Management Software preferred.
    • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Education and Certifications:

    • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
    • Admission to the State Bar of Texas or eligibility for admission through reciprocity.
  • Skills:

    • Strong legal research and writing skills, with the ability to draft comprehensive legal documents and briefs.
    • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload effectively and efficiently.
    • Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases.
