Job Title: Mid-Level Leasing Attorney

Location: Chicago, IL

Job Overview: A reputable law firm is looking to hire a Mid-Level Leasing Attorney with at least 3 years of experience in handling commercial leases. The role will be pivotal in supporting the Real Estate Group and engaging directly with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders.

Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate commercial leases and associated documents, including term sheets, letters of intent, work letters, and SNDAs.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, colleagues, and third parties, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality deliverables, addressing phone calls and correspondence efficiently.
  • Meet deadlines and expectations while performing work duties as required.
  • Build and sustain positive professional relationships.
  • Adhere to all firm policies and procedures.
  • Engage in various tasks, including extended periods of computer work and participation in virtual meetings.
  • Execute additional duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
  • Admitted to practice law in Illinois.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in drafting and negotiating commercial leases and related agreements.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice in Illinois.

Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of the commercial leasing market and relevant issues.
  • Experience with diverse property types, including office, retail, industrial, and life science leases.
  • Proven ability to represent landlords effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Capacity to comprehend clients' business objectives and deliver work efficiently.
  • Excellent negotiating abilities and multitasking skills.
