Duties:

  • Provide expert legal counsel on state and local tax issues, including planning, compliance, and litigation.
  • Handle complex tax controversies and disputes before state and local tax authorities.
  • Advise clients on multistate tax matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare clear, comprehensive reports and legal memoranda.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, hearings, and litigation proceedings.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop effective tax strategies and solutions.
  • Keep up-to-date with developments in state and local tax laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • 4-7 years of experience in state and local tax law, including both planning and litigation.
  • Strong background in tax controversy and dispute resolution.
  • Demonstrated experience with multistate tax issues.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in Florida.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research and analytical abilities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • LL.M. in Taxation (preferred).

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Florida.

Skills:

  • Expertise in state and local tax law.
  • Advanced legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
