Duties

  • Review and assess new cases to develop action plans, establish budgets, and provide recommendations.
  • Delegate tasks to paralegals as needed, including preparing discovery responses and managing document production.
  • Attend depositions, hearings, and discovery events, ensuring thorough reporting and follow-up.
  • Negotiate settlements and prepare for trial, securing necessary approvals as required.
  • Maintain regular communication with paralegals, legal assistants, and other team members to ensure case management efficiency.
  • Manage multiple tasks independently while maintaining high levels of organization and accuracy.
  • Contribute to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and inclusivity within the firm.

Requirements

  • 1-5 years of experience in workers' compensation law or related practice areas.
  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina and in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative approach with colleagues and staff.
  • Experience in handling insurance defense matters is preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the North Carolina State Bar in good standing.
