Associate Attorney needed for Hackensack office

Job Overview:
A growing law firm in Hackensack, NJ, is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to handle divorce, collection, and commercial litigation matters. This role offers an opportunity for hands-on experience, working directly with clients, preparing legal documents, negotiating settlements, and appearing in court. Spanish-speaking skills are a plus. The ideal candidate will be admitted to the New Jersey bar, and admission to the New York bar is a plus.

Location:

Duties:

• Represent clients in divorce, collection, and commercial litigation cases
• Prepare and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
• Appear in court for hearings, depositions, and trials
• Maintain communication with clients to provide updates and advice
• Manage case load and ensure deadlines are met
• Conduct legal research to support case strategy
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff

Requirements:

• Admission to the New Jersey bar (required)
• Admission to the New York bar (preferred)
• Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish (a plus)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage a case load
• Strong negotiation and litigation skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple cases

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in New Jersey (required)
• Licensed to practice law in New York (preferred)
