Duties:

  • Conduct comprehensive legal analysis and develop defense strategies.
  • Draft pleadings, discovery requests, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct depositions and provide client counsel on legal matters.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients, adjusters, and case representatives.
  • Coordinate with courts, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel as needed.
  • Ensure timely and effective resolution of assigned cases.
  • Make court appearances and assist in trials, hearings, and alternative dispute resolutions.
  • Record and manage billable hours to meet monthly billing targets (average of 175 hours per month).

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of relevant insurance defense experience.
  • Licensed to practice law in California and/or Nevada.
  • Proven experience in civil litigation with a strong focus on insurance defense.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership and good standing with the California State Bar and/or Nevada State Bar.

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and acute attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage a varied caseload.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and legal technology/software.
  • Flexibility for in-person and virtual court appearances.
  • Ability to travel as needed between offices, courtrooms, and client meetings.
  • Strong organizational skills and capacity to maintain focus over extended periods.
