Duties:

  • Manage cases from inception to resolution under partner supervision.
  • Conduct hearings, depositions, mediations, trials, and arbitrations.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal briefs.
  • Research case law, statutes, and regulations affecting client matters.
  • Develop and manage expert witnesses.
  • Maintain professional client and opposing counsel interactions.
  • Analyze complex legal problems and propose strategic solutions.
  • Organize and manage documents in multidistrict and complex litigation.
  • Engage in networking and business development activities.
  • Supervise and support peer associates.

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of private firm litigation experience.
  • Strong problem-solving, research, and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage cases independently and supervise staff.
  • Proficiency with legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Ohio State Bar and Illinois State Bar.
  • Admission to additional state bars preferred.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
