Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking an experienced Workers Compensation Attorney to join their team in Savannah, GA. This role involves managing all aspects of workers compensation cases, from initial client contact through to case resolution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in workers compensation law, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:

  • Open new client files and make initial contact with clients.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients throughout the case.
  • Fully investigate each case, including gathering and analyzing intake information and relevant documents.
  • Enter pertinent case information into the firm’s database.
  • Verify insurance coverage and liability issues, and maintain contact with insurance companies.
  • Manage and coordinate clients’ medical care, including scheduling and calendar management of medical appointments.
  • Explain medical procedures and related documentation to clients.
  • Continuously monitor case status and review medical records.
  • Organize and maintain case files, preparing files for submission to demand writers.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in Workers Compensation law.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop working relationships with clients, field associates, and vendors.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Capacity to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work on the phone for extended periods.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Consistent record of attendance, reliability, and integrity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology.
  • Spanish-speaking skills are a plus.

Education and Certifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited university.
  • Admission to the Florida Bar (FL Bar Admission).
