Workers' Compensation Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm seeks an experienced Workers' Compensation Attorney to represent injured workers in cases before the New Jersey Division of Workers’ Compensation. This role requires a dedicated advocate for clients' rights, working closely with paralegals and legal assistants. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate, motivated self-starter who is committed to client success and values a team-oriented environment.

Duties:

• Manage a full caseload of workers' compensation cases, handling all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motions, trials, briefs, and appeals.
• Appear remotely and in person in workers' compensation courts throughout New Jersey.
• Work collaboratively with paralegals and legal assistants to advance clients’ interests.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in New Jersey workers' compensation law, representing either petitioners or respondents.
• Demonstrated ability to manage cases independently.
• Strong written and oral communication skills for effective advocacy.
• High organizational skills with attention to confidentiality and data security.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed and in good standing with the New Jersey State Bar.

Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with case management systems (e.g., Smart Advocate).
• Ability to work independently and maintain focus on client needs.
• Flexibility and empathy in client interactions and team collaboration.
• Capability to travel as needed between firm offices and to workers' compensation courts.
