Duties

  • Develop and execute patent strategies, including drafting, filing, and prosecuting patent applications.
  • Conduct patent due diligence and manage related risk assessments.
  • Build and nurture client relationships, offering tailored advice and support throughout the patent lifecycle.
  • Manage a diverse range of patent matters, from strategy to execution, in a collaborative and supportive firm environment.
  • Contribute to the growth and improvement of internal processes, collaborating with colleagues to enhance efficiency.
  • Participate in bi-annual team meetings and potential travel for conferences or client visits as needed.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 6-8 years of experience in patent counseling and prosecution within the biotech or pharmaceutical sectors.
  • A strong background in patent strategy, drafting, prosecution, and due diligence, preferably in a “Big Law” environment.
  • Proven ability to manage complex matters and deliver high-quality, detailed work.
  • A proactive and self-directed approach to managing work and schedules.
  • A commitment to high professional standards and a desire for ongoing personal and professional development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building long-term client relationships.

Education

  • Advanced degree in biology or chemistry, preferably a Ph.D.

Certifications

  • Registration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is required.
