The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patent application drafting and a technical degree in fields such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a similar discipline. This role requires proficiency in patent law and intellectual property (IP) matters, as well as excellent communication and analytical abilities.

Duties:

  • Drafting and prosecuting patent applications in various technological fields.
  • Providing legal counsel on intellectual property matters, with a focus on patent law.
  • Conducting patentability analyses and preparing office action responses.
  • Collaborating with clients to develop and execute patent strategies.
  • Engaging in legal research and staying current with industry trends and patent law developments.
  • Managing multiple cases and deadlines while maintaining a high level of organization.
  • Communicating complex technical concepts to clients and colleagues in clear, understandable terms.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in patent prosecution, with a focus on application drafting.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Barred in the state of Texas.
  • Registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • A technical degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with other forms of intellectual property law is a plus.

Education:

  • A degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical field is required.

Certifications:

  • Must be registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Admission to the State Bar of Texas is required.
