A law firm seeks a skilled Senior Criminal Defense Attorney to join its team in Sacramento. Duties

• Advise clients on their legal rights and develop strategies tailored to their case.
• Prepare and file legal documents, including motions and briefs, relevant to each case.
• Represent clients at pretrial hearings, court appearances, and trials.
• Provide counsel to clients after each hearing, guiding them on the best course of action.
• Conduct in-depth legal research to support case arguments and analyze potential case outcomes based on legal precedents.
• Interview witnesses and experts to gather supporting evidence and strengthen the case.
• Manage a caseload, ensuring all deadlines and case milestones are met.
• Analyze and present evidence clearly and compellingly during trials.
• Develop and execute case strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
• Prepare clients for depositions and trials by discussing case goals and objectives.

Requirements

• Proven experience handling criminal defense cases at the federal, state, and local levels.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage client relationships.
• Ability to handle complex criminal cases and navigate through the legal process.
• Experience preparing and presenting cases in court, including drafting motions and examining witnesses.
• Commitment to providing exceptional client service and maintaining confidentiality.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other attorneys and legal assistants in a team-oriented environment.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active member of the State Bar of California or eligibility to practice in California.
